ProjectHTTP (Hit That Turn Please!) is a kart racer akin to Mario Kart Wii that focuses on character individual playstyles- with each character usually having sort of gimmick or mechanic that they’re based around- and more skill based gameplay. It features character specific ‘skills’ (used to interact with said mechanics) as opposed to the usual global item pool seen in most kart racers, and 5 different types of : Kart, Bike, Skates, Board, and ATV/Tank. The gameplay is planned to be a lot quicker and ‘active’ than Mario Kart- and each vehicle has they’re own different playstyle that take inspiration/pays homage to other games!
Currently, we’re working towards a Closed-Alpha Test, which will feature Kero and Scorch with all of their skills, both of their vehicles (Skates and Bike), and both of their stages (Frog Pond (pending) and Volcano Stage (pending)) being implemented as well as functional online implementation and standard local play (no grand prix). We will do extensive testing in this phase for some time while working on an Open-Beta Test, which will feature an additional 3 characters, their vehicles (Kart, Board, and ATV/Tank), and their stages being implemented as well as time trials.
After the testing phases, we will probably do a Kickstarter run and try to work towards the full 1.0 release! At the moment, we are looking at releasing to Steam and Itch.io, with no real plans for any console release… yet.
